On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Diyar Abdulkareem Saeed, the President of the University of Zakho, and Dr. Diyar Ahmed Balij, the College of Science organized a special workshop on fire hazards and prevention. The event was presented within the College of Science, providing valuable insights and practical guidance on handling fire-related incidents. 

This workshop was organized in collaboration with the Urban Defense Directorate of Zakho, the American Chemical Association, and the Health and Safety Unit at Zakho University. It aimed to provide university staff with proper crisis management strategies regarding fire incidents. The discussions covered both theoretical and practical approaches, focusing on fire safety measures, minimizing damage, protecting surrounding individuals, and controlling fires effectively.
